Welcome! The Rockville Makerspace and Tool Library empowers the people of Montgomery County, Maryland and surrounding areas to turn their ideas into reality by applying a wide range of new and old technologies. We provide affordable access to tools, training, workspace, and a growing community of creative and knowledgeable makers to help you with your projects. Doing it yourself is better with friends!

How it works

We run on a membership model

Nonmembers can:

• Take a tour and learn about becoming members
• Donate tools or seeds
• Borrow seeds from our seed library
• Attend many of our classes and workshops
• Join our Slack group and ask questions and get help with projects
• Volunteer (if 16 or older)

Members can:

• Use the makerspace during member hours to work on projects
• Use equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines, and woodworking tools
• Borrow tools from the tool library (if they live in Montgomery County)
• Bring a nonmember guest
