# Why become a member?

- <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Use the Makerspace during <span class="color_41 wixui-rich-text__text">[Member Hours](https://www.rockvillesciencecenter.org/makerspace-classes-calendar) </span>to work on projects and use our equipment (some equipment requires certification and training). Members may also bring one guest each time they visit.</span>
- <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Free monthly classes, demonstrations, and workshops</span>
- <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Members who live in Montgomery County can borrow from the Tool Library's growing collection of DIY books and tools for woodworking, sewing, soldering, arts and crafts, photography, gardening, baking, and more! # Become a member

### <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Membership Types</span>

##### We offer 3 types of membership for adults 18+:​

<div class="N8MGzv _v6ohL ZS_qLz PO9MfV comp-mg9oo16q wixui-rich-text" data-testid="richTextElement" id="bkmrk-annual-membership%3A%C2%A0r">1. <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Annual Membership:</span> Receive all of the benefits of membership for only $60 per year. That's only $5 per month!
2. <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Monthly Membership: </span>Home on Summer Break? In the area for a few weeks for business? For $15 per month, you can become a member without committing to an annual plan. Automatic renewal available.
3. <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">Flexible Pricing Annual Membership:</span> We don't want ability to pay to stop anyone from becoming a member. If the cost of annual membership is a hardship, please select this option and select the price that works for you.

2. <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">After registering, you will be asked to select the type of membership and whether you live in Montgomery County.</span>
3. <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">You can then either pay online, or close the registration program and visit us in person during Member Hours on Tuesdays 6-8 PM and Saturdays 12-4 PM to pay in person.</span>
4. <span class="wixui-rich-text__text">At your first visit, please bring proof of your age and current address, and we will provide your membership card. </span>
